Get to know me
The nuts and bolts:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (#132837) and New York (#001813). I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology at the University of Washington and my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles. Over the years I have trained in community mental health, elementary school, high school, and private practice settings in both California and New York. I work with all kinds of people, but am particularly passionate about working with women in their twenties and thirties, couples and families of all kinds, the LGTBQIA+ community, and those healing from trauma. (I myself am a queer woman in my thirties healing from trauma, so you might say I have a type.)
My holistic therapeutic approach is tailored to each client and is informed by Narrative, Relational Gestalt, Somatic and Internal Family Systems theories. I believe that we are constantly in relationship–to ourselves and our bodies, to one another, to our many identities, to the contexts and systems we exist within–and that issues in our lives arise as a result of these nuanced relationships, not because something within us is "broken" or "wrong." My work focuses on being curious about, exploring, and renegotiating these relationships to help clients discover their most authentic selves.
I hold deep and unconditional compassion for each of my clients, along with an unwavering sense of the boundless possibilities that are available to all of us. I seek to help clients access their strengths and approach challenges creatively and collaboratively. I see therapy as a true partnership and am honored to support and empower clients throughout the process.
When not working with clients, I can be found cooking, sharing meals with friends and family, dancing, doing yoga, reading, binge-watching TV, and smothering my dog with more affection than she probably wants (as seen in photo above).
